Golden Gatherings 2026

Join Neighbourcare and Wesley Mission’s Care Finder program to celebrate this year’s Golden Gatherings, a welcoming community event focused on connection, wellbeing, and local support.
Everyone is invited to enjoy a free BBQ, browse information stalls, and take part in activities designed to help you stay active, informed, and connected.
When: 10am–2pm, Tuesday 10 March 2026
Where: Doug Walters Pavilion, 40 MacKay St, Dungog NSW 2420
Cost: Free
RSVP: No RSVP required; just drop in!

What’s on

Come along and enjoy:
  • Free BBQ (thanks to the Dungog Men’s Shed)
  • Information stalls with local services and practical resources
  • An interactive Tai Chi demonstration (beginner-friendly)
  • Guest speaker Jordan Payne, Occupational Therapist (Mitchell Integrative Therapy), presenting “Fighting Frailty”

Guest speaker: “Fighting Frailty”

Frailty can affect strength, balance, confidence and independence, but small steps can make a big difference.
In this practical session, Jordan Payne (Occupational Therapist, Mitchell Integrative Therapy) will share simple ways to:
  • improve balance and mobility
  • reduce falls risk
  • build strength safely
  • stay active and independent for longer
Great for: older adults, carers, family members, and anyone supporting ageing well.

  • community members wanting to learn what supports are available locally
  • anyone interested in healthy ageing and wellbeing
