What is a Notice of Decision with Support at Home?

  • October 31, 2025
  • Blog, Home Care

If you’ve had an aged care assessment through My Aged Care, you’ll receive an official outcome letter called a Notice of Decision. It confirms whether you’re eligible for Support at Home and, if so, the type of help you’ve been approved to receive.

What’s inside the Notice of Decision?

Your Notice of Decision sets out your approved services and key details, including:

  • your classification level (which sets your quarterly budget)
  • any Assistive Technology & Home Modifications (AT-HM) funding tier
  • any approved short-term pathways (Restorative Care or End-of-Life)
  • the reasons and evidence for the decision
  • your rights of review if you want to question the outcome.

You’ll also receive a support plan alongside your Notice. It summarises your needs and goals and lists the services you can access from the Support at Home service list.

Where can I find it?

You (and any registered supporter you’ve nominated) can view your Notice of Decision and support plan in your My Aged Care Online Account. Providers like Adssi can also view them securely via the Service and Support Portal.

What happens next?

Your Notice of Decision guides what can go into your service agreement and care plan.

Providers must include a copy of your Notice and list services using the official service list names and prices. Remember: the services you’re eligible for are those approved in your Notice and support plan.

How Neighbourcare can help

A dedicated Care Partner will walk you through your Notice of Decision, your approved services and budget, and set up a plan that fits your goals at home.
